14:30 – CentOS: Taking the Excitement out of your Development Process
Speaker: Jim Perrin, CentOS Project Developer
Abstract: Developers and end users have enough to worry about without the operating system getting in the way. CentOS has a proven history for the x86/x86_64 platforms, and now we’re working to bring that same level of dedication to AArch64. We’ll demo installation, development tooling, containers, and discuss how everyone can be a part of the future improvements.
It's not easy, perhaps not possible, to establish a common boot architecture meeting the security needs of OS vendors, SoC vendors, BIOS vendors and OEMs across all market segments. This informal session evaluates the current boot architecture(s) and immediate security needs of the ARMv8-A ecosystem. This is an opportunity for all interested attendees to meet and set the agenda for more specific discussions during the week.
Regular session taking place at Connect for developers working on Linux Distributions to share progress on ARM Linux platform support. Users are also welcome to share their experiences using Linux distributions on ARM. The goal of the discussion is to identify areas in which Linaro can help.
96Boards is most obviously a hardware specification and website providing support and access to software downloads. The software is, to a certain extent, taken for granted, but it is the software that differentiates 96Boards from many other development boards. This session will start with a brief introduction to the 96Boards Software Reference Platform and then invite discussion about how to improve the platform and what should and shouldn’t be a part of the platform across the range of boards.
