LVC21-300K1: Keynote: Can Embedded and IoT "Just Work"?​ - Standards, SystemReady and Linux

Session Abstract

This talk will provide an overview of Arm SystemReady, a recently launched certification program based on a set of standards that enable interoperability with generic, off-the-shelf operating systems and hypervisors. SystemReady extends the former Arm ServerReady program to the embedded and IoT sector and we will cover the steps needed to make software ‘Just Work’ on these diverse platforms.

Grant Likely

Senior Technical Director (Arm)

Grant Likely is a senior technical director at Arm in the Architecture and Technology Group. He is the lead architect of Arm's System Ready IR program for embedded A-profile Arm devices, and the maintainer of the Embedded Base Boot Requirements (EBBR) specification. Grant is a Linux kernel developer and community leader who is best known for his work on Devicetree which enabled Arm Linux to remove platform specific code and build generic kernel images. He has also maintained several Linux subsystems and platforms, served on the organizing committee of the Linux Kernel Summit and Linux Plumbers Conferences, and is a past chair of the Linux Foundation's Technical Advisory Board.
